Despite
Despite the burning sun and the revolting heat,
your body felt cold under my hands.
You were slipping away,
inching closer to death and further from me.
Our hands were interlocked for those last seconds,
and the blood kept running.
There was nothing to do, we both knew.
And yet, I was clinging onto your last breath.
Hoping, wishing for a miracle.
But alas, we were both damned from the start;
and miracles were not meant for our kind.
You were slipping away,
and I could no longer hold on.
As soon as I got you, I lost you.

One Day
One day, it all changed.
Your touch didn’t light me up,
and your kisses didn’t set me on fire.

Time
what do you do when it feels like time is running out?
when you look in the mirror and you're no longer fifteen years old?
life is short they say -
even though it's the longest stretch of time we'll ever know
so why does it feel like it's going by so fast?
